Centre for Social Informatics has been maintaining the central global website about web survey methodology since 1998 – Web Survey Methodology (www.WebSM.org).
On this basis book Web Survey Methodology was gradually created. It was published in 2015 by Sage. In cooperation with Mario Callegaro from Google, London the book was written by Dr. Katja Lozar Manfreda and Dr. Vasja Vehovar, members of Centre for Social informatics, FDV.
Almost 20 year of experience with conducting web surveys is condensed in this book. It is meant for anyone dealing with web surveying and systematically describes whole process of web surveying. In this sense overview of all stances of all aspects is given.
The book gives practical advice about the newest techniques for collecting valid and reliable data and offers holistic insight into research questions. Main themes such as creation and design of questionnaire, testing and analysing and presentation of web applications are presented systematically and in depth. Key concepts: overview of the whole spectrum from measuring, way of surveying, sampling, technical aspects, management, nonresponse to costs are highlighted in the book. Book also deals with currently most actual research themes such as web panels, mobile research and empirical e-social sciences.
